Archives Awareness: Online exhibition

Louis Egerton Broome was a chancer, who travelled the world living on his wits and looking for ways to make his fortune. The photographs on display were taken from an album, which until recently lay undiscovered amongst the papers of Broome's son, and which shows the lives of prospectors on the beaches of Nome, Alaska, during the goldrush.
