In 1964 the Churchill College Play-Reading Society welcomed members from New Hall College and re-established itself as The GODS. In the following Lent Term The GODS presented the Victorian farce Dandy Dick, directed by Chris Frayling. 'The play contained many stock Victorian theatrical devices such as a thunderstorm, a villainous butler, two superbly improbable Hussars and the inevitable country policeman'.
