Speech notes used by Winston Churchill on the foundation of Churchill College, 1959.

Fifty years ago Winston Churchill visited the site of the future Churchill College and planted two trees. The anniversary of this key event in the college's history was marked on Saturday 17 October 2009 when his daughter, The Lady Soames, LG, DBE, planted another tree here. This is a photograph of one of the original trees being planted, with an extract from the speech notes used by Churchill on the occasion.
