Pages from a holiday diary kept by Quintin Hogg, later Lord Hailsham, during a wartime excursion to visit archaeological sites in the Lebanon in August 1942. This is the story of Hogg's luggage bearer, George, the recalcitrant donkey. Needless to say, it is not George who ends up carrying the baggage.
