Churchill and Russia: Online Exhibition

The Second World War in Europe ended on 8 May 1945. Churchill was already worried about possible future conflict with Soviet Russia, and wasted no time in voicing his concerns to President Truman. This telegram and its use of the phrase "iron curtain" leads naturally towards Churchill's famous speech at Fulton, Missouri.

Churchill's telegram to President Truman on the post-war danger posed by Soviet Russia, 12 May 1945.
