Library regulations

Food and drink may not be taken into the Reading Rooms under any circumstances.

"Drink" excludes bottles of water, but bottle tops must be securely tightened and the bottles themselves should be kept in students' bags.

Drinks containers should never be placed on the desks, chairs or floor.

Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the Library building.

These restrictions apply 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. An on-the-spot fine of £10.00 will be levied on anyone found contravening these regulations. Fines will be debited at source from your College account.

Mobile phones should be turned off or switched to mute before being taken into either of the Reading Rooms.

Laptop computers may be used in the Reading Rooms except for the two desks designated laptop-free at the far end of the Bracken Library. Those wishing to use a laptop must comply with the following conditions:
