Matthew H. Kramer was born in Massachusetts and educated at Cornell (B.A.), Harvard (J.D.), and Cambridge (Ph.D. and LL.D.). He has advanced degrees in both Philosophy and Law. His thirteen books and four co-edited books range over many areas of legal, political, and moral philosophy. At the undergraduate level, he lectures and supervises in Jurisprudence; he also teaches Topics in Legal & Political Philosophy in the postgraduate LL.M. program. He directed studies in Law at Churchill from 1995 to 2012. He is in his eleventh year as Professor of Legal and Political Philosophy within the University and in his nineteenth year as a Fellow of Churchill. He was a Visiting Professor at Hebrew University of Jerusalem in April 2009, and he will be a Visiting Professor at Tel Aviv University in March 2012.
