Mark Miller came to Churchill in 2003 as a Junior Research Fellow and since 2006 has been a College Lecturer and Director of Studies in Chemistry. He is also a fixed-term University Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry. Mark's research involves the development and application of methods in computer simulation for the study of colloids and atomic and molecular clusters. A major focus of this work is on self-assembly: the question of how to design and control the interactions between particles so that they will organise themselves into specific structures with minimal intervention.
Mark is also the College's Director of Music-Making. In this role he promotes the wide range of musical activities in the College that are not directly associated with the academic study of music.
