Katharine Hubbard is a plant biologist, having studied for her PhD under the supervision of Alex Webb. Her PhD research was concerned with the identification of proteins involved in regulation of the plant circadian clock by the regulatory molecule Ca2+. She also did her undergraduate degree in Cambridge, studying at Clare College and specialising in Plant Sciences for Part II. She returned last year from a PostDoctoral research contract at the University of California, San Diego where she continued to work on Ca2+, at the level of single cells rather than whole plants. She supervises undergraduates extensively for IA Biology of Cells, IA Physiology and IB Plant Sciences.
