Mrs Hildegard O'Kane

I have been teaching German as a foreign language for nearly twenty years in various positions and am especially interested in German grammar and its teaching. I teach German 'ab initio' classes for the University, and take any Churchill students who study German either post A-Level or ab initio, for oral work in their first and second year. I also teach Use of German and the Certificate in German at the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages. Use of German is a class which deals with comprehension and analysis of contemporary texts, and a closer look at vocabulary and grammar. It is taught in German. The Certificate in German can be taken by any student, postgraduate or other member of the University who wants to learn German up to A-Level standard. Participants do not need any prior knowledge of the language.
