Renzo Derosas graduated at Ca Foscari University, Venice, where he is associate professor of modern history. He was Jean Monnet Fellow at the European University Institute, visiting scholar at UCLA, and visiting professor at Keio, Brown, and Venice International University. His first interests were on the social and economic history of the family and the elites in the early modern period. Recently, Renzos research has been focusing on historical demography. In his works he tries to highlight the impact of social, cultural, and environmental factors on demographic behaviour. His current project concerns the modelling of epidemics in urban settings.
