Dr Oliver Inderwildi is head of the Low-Carbon Energy Centre at Oxford University's Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment. He is also a visiting professor at the Scuola di Studi Superiori of the University of Turin and serves as Advisory Board member for 'Energy & Environmental Science', a high-impact journal published by the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Oliver's research group applies a broad range of scientific techniques ranging from quantum-chemical modeling of fundamental processes to policy analysis and energy-emissions modeling to modern energy problems. This research is used to advise multinationals, investment banks and government agencies on opportunities, challenges and risks of the modern energy system. Research led by Oliver has been featured by CNN, The Guardian, The Telegraph, and many other newspapers. He is also regularly interviewed by news channels such as Euronews or the BBC World Service.
Oliver was educated in Science and Engineering at the University of Heidelberg, the Swiss Institute of Technology and the University of Amsterdam. He received additional training in economics and policy at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and London School of Economics and Political Science. Prior to his post at Oxford, Oliver was a research fellow and policy analyst at the University of Cambridge working with Professor Sir David King and a research associate at Trinity Hall.
