Michelle Linterman received her PhD in Immunology from the Australian National University in Canberra, where she investigated a novel mechanism of immunological tolerance; a phenomenon by which the immune system fails to respond to an antigen. She is currently a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at the Cambridge Institute for Medical Research and EMBO long-term Fellow. Her principle research focus is upon a recently-described subgroup of white blood cells and the mechanisms by which they can facilitate an immune response and enable the generation of life-long, protective immunological memory.
