Churchill see off "surprisingly good" Wolfson side. - Pete (Sun 29/01/2006)
Wolfson were better (and generally, weirder looking) than expected, but still didn't have enough for a Churchill side that came from a goal down to win 5-3. Frank and Huw stood out, both having exceptional games. Huw also scored a spectacular/lucky goal from about 40 yards out. Good to see Andrei back for his 1st game of the season. Almost an extremely controversial match when Omar, reffing, threatened to send off ex-captain (and current-constantly slightly injured midfielder) Pete Cherns for a well timed, knee high, dangerous tackle. It was followed by a bit of handbags with a guy wearing a hat whilst playing.

Wolfson next up for Churchill - Pete (Thurs 26/01/2006)
Wolfson are the next cup opponents, on Saturday 28th at 11am. The game is at home and victory will assure Churchill of a place in the cup quarter finals.

Professional (!) Start to Cup Campaign - Pete (Sat 21/01/2006)
Churchill got off to a great start in the cup with a 5-1 win over corpus. Star of the show was Thomas Kelepouris with a 1st half hat-trick. Other notable performances from Rob who came back from injury to play well in midfield, and Joe Tavacoli made his MCR debut. It was good to see Huw Jones get off the mark for this term, hopefully this will give him some much-needed confidence.

Cup Group- Pete (Wed 18/01/2006)
Churchill have been put in a group with Corpus, Hughes and Wolfson for the MCR cup. The first match is this weekend and we should expect to progress as group winners!
