As part of the college's pre formal recital series, MCR member and college Organ Scholar Edward Lilley performs a series of works on the college's fine Rubio harpsichord.

Edward is a fourth-year astrophysics undergraduate at Churchill College. He is the senior organ scholar of the chapel at Churchill, beginning in October 2012. Edward started his musical career as a chorister in the choir of King's College Chapel, where he started organ lessons at the age of 10; since then his teachers have included Ashley Grote and David Sanger. He has played at various churches around Cambridge and accompanied local choirs -- most recently the Fairhaven Singers and the St Faith's Singers. Edward has a particular interest in early music, and is now enjoying organ and harpsichord lessons at Churchill with Douglas Hollick.

Please come along to our open rehearsal for the Orchestra on the Hill, our shared orchestra with Fitzwilliam, Murray Edwards, Magdalene, Girton, Robinson, St Edmund's and Lucy Cavendish, and performs one or two concerts each term at a variety of venues in the colleges. It is performs standard concert repertory but also some lesser known or neglected works.
The orchestra is non-audition, but achieves a high standard.
