MARK SPYROPOULOS

Born in London, Mark read Music at Trinity College Dublin before training as a singer at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Opera appearances include the Salzburg Easter Festival in 'Peter Grimes' with the Berlin Philharmonic under Sir Simon Rattel, Carmen with Opera Ireland, Lakmé and Tosca with Opera Holland Park, as 'Philene' in Campra's 'L'Europe Galante' at the Opera Royal de Versailles directed by William Christie and most recently as the Count in Le Nozze di Figaro. Mark has appeared as soloist in London, Florence and Dublin in both sacred oratorio and secular repertoire. In 2007 Mark studied in New York with Maitland Peters of the Manhattan School of Music, he now studies with Graeme Broadbent.

MARK PACKWOOD piano

Mark was educated in Worcestershire and North Wales where he studied piano with Patricia Freeman and composition with William Matthias. He later studied at the National Opera Studio and has worked with Glyndebourne, Opera 80 and Scottish opera. He was the chorus master at the Théâtre du Châtelet, Paris before joining the music staff of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. As recital accompanist, Mark has accompanied many singers including Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Francois Le Roux and Angela Gheorghiu.
