Maisonneuve Bequest Exhibition

20 February–5 March 2017

Open to the public for viewing daily 2–6pm, and 11am–6pm Saturdays and Sundays in the Cockcroft Room, Fellows’ Gallery and Fellows’ Dining Room.

This collection of over forty late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century French paintings and sculpture was given to the College by Pierre Maisonneuve, in order to ‘bring pleasure to those interested in this period of history and as a homage to Sir Winston Churchill’.

When the works arrived at Churchill in 1987, an exhibition was mounted to celebrate the bequest, but since then the artworks have been dispersed across public and private rooms throughout the College. They will now be brought together once more to celebrate the anniversary of this unique gift.

Now, thirty years on, they will be brought together once more to celebrate the anniversary of this unique gift.
