General Practitioner (GP)
Cathy is an alumna of Churchill arriving in 1973, the second year that women were accepted. Cathy always wanted to be a GP and spent 30 years in this fascinating profession, in the last 14 years also training future GPs. She has a special interest in exercise referral and set up one of the first pilot schemes for this in Chipping Norton as well as a healthy walking scheme. Fortunately these schemes are now widespread throughout the country.
Cathy now appraises GPs and always asks them how much exercise they do—they usually do more than her. However in her spare time she tries to keep fit with long distance walks,swimming, sailing, yoga and dancing.
Cathy will speak briefly about the benefits of exercise from a GP's perspective.
