So that we can ensure that all Members of the Churchill College community stay healthy and safe, things will look a little different when you next come to College. But you can find everything you need to know on our new Coronavirus Guidance page From the latest research from the University to what you should do if you have symptoms, and from the provision of College services to minimising the risk of transmission, you'll find all the answers to your questions here.
Our team of student callers will soon be getting in touch with alumni as we launch our 2020 Telephone Campaign
Our students gain a huge amount from the life experience of alumni they engage with and we hugely grateful to all our alumni who participate. You can meet some of the team below — we hope their call offers you a chance to find out about their Churchill careers and about College life today.
It’s a fantastic opportunity to speak to alumni and see what they’ve been up to. I don’t really know what I want to do in the future and it’s completely opened my eyes as what is actually out there. Rachel Leedham (U16)
Hi! I'm Katherine, a first year geographer about to start my second year at Churchill College. I'm the current Mental Health and Wellbeing Officer and I'm therefore involved with the JCR committee. I've also enjoyed going to some of the yoga sessions that the College offers, just keeping fit in general and spending time with friends. I'm looking forward to hearing about all of the Alumni times at Churchill and how their lives have unfolded since leaving Cambridge!
Hi, I'm Deborah! I'm an incoming third year English student, particularly interested in medieval and early modern literature. Outside of my course I enjoy getting involved in university and local charities, this year I'm on the RAG committee and volunteering with a homeless charity. I also love attending Cambridge Union debates, a local church and the university kickboxing society. A real highlight of my university experience has been the friendly Churchill community and I'm looking forward to chatting to alumni about their experiences of College!
Hi, my name is Sarah and I am an incoming third year Law student at Churchill. In my spare time, I enjoy getting involved with a couple of Churchill’s sport societies, including the college netball and football team. I am also heavily involved with the growing College Law society. I look forward to talking with alumni and finding out about life post-Churchill.
Hi! I'm Charlie, an incoming third year HSPS student at Churchill. I love representing Churchill on the football field despite my ever decreasing fitness levels, and helping out the Churchill Casino team in the numerous events we have had over the last two years.
Hi, I'm Kieran. I've just finished my 4th year and Master's in Physics and am about to start as a PhD Candidate at the Cavendish. During my time at Churchill I've been heavily involved in the Boat Club coxing across the club and am currently the Junior Treasurer and a Lower Boat's Captain. I've also served on the JCR for the last 3 years and through being President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer I've been lucky to have a close insight into how the College works.
Hi I’m Amy a first year Law student going into my second year at Churchill. During my first year I was heavily involved in the Boat Club, winning Fairbairns and Emma Sprints as a novice, and going on to win blades with the Women’s first boat (which was probably the best day of my life). I’m really looking forward to speaking to alumni and hearing about their experiences at Churchill.
Hello, I am a 1st year PhD student in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics and will begin a project on String Theory, and its connection to the Standard Model of Particle Physics, this October. Having done my undergraduate in my native Ireland I came to Cambridge last year for a Master’s degree but spent most of my time on the Cam with the Churchill Boat Club, while also playing a couple of games for the Churchill Rugby team. I have loved my time at Churchill thus far and look forward to speaking to fellow Churchillians!
I’m Hannah, a first-year undergraduate, about to start my second year, reading French and Spanish. I am the current President of the JCR at Churchill, incoming Captain of the College Lacrosse Team, and have enjoyed taking Italian lessons in my first year, during which I’ve also been Vice President and Secretary of the JCR. In my free time, I love to travel, learn new languages and I also enjoy playing football and skiing. I am looking forward to taking part in the Churchill Calling Campaign: connecting with alumni, hearing about their experiences at Cambridge and sharing updates on life at Churchill.
Hi, I'm Morgan, I'm a third-year Archaeologist with a particular focus on the archaeology of North and South America. I spend a lot of my free time rowing in the men's 2nd boat and have very much caught the bug of being on the water. I have been a part of the Churchill College Boat Club for the last two years, during which I held the position of Lower Boats Captain last year and will be Men's Vice Captain for the upcoming year. I also enjoy playing squash on a much more casual level as well as getting stuck into some D&D. I can't wait to get involved and speak to as many alumni as possible!
Hi, I’m Charlotte, a Natural Scientist about to start my second year at Churchill. Outside my studies, I try to keep fit and love playing as part of the college mixed and ladies netball teams. I am also part of the Churchill Casino and have really enjoyed working at the various events throughout the year!
I’m going into my second year, studying Natural Sciences. When avoiding work, I can be found helping out with Art Society and Churchill Casino, playing with the University brass band, or generally running about.
Hey! My name is Katie and I'm about to start my second year studying History at Churchill. In my spare time I row for Churchill College, I'm an editor of a student newspaper and I’m also on the Cambridge women’s campaign committee.
I’m a philosophy student here at Churchill going into my second year in October. I am particularly interested in political philosophy and excited to specialise further in the next two years. Currently, I am serving as the JCR’s Green Officer and over lockdown I have been running a virtual book club with some of my friends in College. I’m really excited to work on this campaign and hear about our alumni’s experiences of the College!
