Dr Peter Sloman

Peter Sloman is a University Lecturer in British Politics at the University of Cambridge and a Fellow of Churchill College. His first book, The Liberal Party and the Economy, 1929-1964 (Oxford, 2015) explored how British Liberals engaged with economic thought in the era of John Maynard Keynes and William Beveridge, and he has also contributed articles to Historical Research, Contemporary British History, and the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography. Peter is currently working on the history of ideas about redistribution and social welfare in Britain from the Beveridge Report to Universal Credit, and retains a close interest in liberalism, political thought, and electoral sociology.
