Beyond Our Borders: A Comparison with America and Europe

Stained Glass window and dove

This panel took a comparative approach to the relationship between religion and government by comparing and contrasting the English model with the American and European models. This offered the role of religion in a democracy as a unifying theme between the UK, US and Europe. However, beyond this theme it became clear that there were significant differences in the approach to the relationship between religion and government especially, in US foreign policy and in American democracy in general.
