This panel explored the legitimate role of the church and faith groups in policy making and public life. It considered to what extent the Prime Minister could invoke religious notions in developing policy while exploring constitutional place of the Church of England. The panel then analyzed the questions which were raised by the constitutional limitations and benefits regarding the relationship between the Church of England and Government, namely addressing issues concerning religious freedom, equal rights,  responsibilities to other faiths, and the role that faith plays in the education system both inside and outside State schools.
