Booking for in-person graduation on 24 July 2021. This ceremony will primarily be for students graduating from postgraduate courses. Any undergraduate graduands who are unable to take their degree at General Admission 3 July 2021 are also welcome to attend this congregation. However, BA graduands should book through the dedicated undergraduate form.
If you hold a Cambridge BA, you may proceed to the MA not less than six years from the end of your first term of residence, providing that you have held your BA degree for at least two years. Once you have received confirmation from the Tutorial Office that you are eligible you may register to receive your MA degree in person or in absence.
We regret that due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, guests will not be allowed at the Senate House ceremony.
Guests are also being asked by the authorities not to gather near the Senate House, which will in any case be completely screened by marquees and tenting, so there will unfortunately be nothing to see.
While no guests will be permitted at the Senate House, we understand that some people’s families and friends might wish to travel to Cambridge for the occasion. We will be processing down to the Senate House as a group, and families and friends will be able to see you depart College in your graduation finery.
Further, on the days of degree Congregations, the Praelector hosts a lunch for those taking degrees in person. Lunch is free for all graduands (unless you are a BA graduand, eligible to attend the graduation lunch on 3 July), and guests are welcome. If you wish to bring any guests to the lunch the cost is £25 per head. Subject to coronavirus related restrictions, the graduation lunch will be held in Hall.
A timetable of the day will be e-mailed to you approximately one week before the congregation, when timings of the ceremony are known.
Please note: Bookings will close 13 July 2021.
N.B - You do not need to give personal details for any of your guests. When asked for personal details for 'Attendee 1', you should enter your own.
