The Music Society is delighted to announce its Lent Term Friday evening Pre-formal Recital Series.
All recitals are at 6.15pm in the Recital Room unless stated otherwise. Performances are FREE and un-ticketed, with a retiring collection.
3rd — Piano Trio
Pianist Vikram Sundar, Bursary Holder and a regular performer at the Churchill Recital Series, has formed a Piano Trio with Chenguang Li (violin) and our multi-talented organ scholar Alice Ertl (cello). They will perform works by Rachmaninoff and Saint-Saens along with a contemporary arrangement by Chenguang Li.
10th — Churchill String Quartet
Rebecca Doherty & Holly Robertson (violins), Cleo Loi (viola) and Adrian del Ser (cello) return for their second concert this year. They will be performing music by Borodin, Rachmaninoff, Pachelbel and Rebecca Doherty.
17th — Jacqueline Siu & Kevin Ng (Violin Duo)
PhD candidate Jacqueline Siu, a member of the University’s prestigious Instrumental Awards Scheme, has formed a violin duo with Kevin Ng (Concert Master of University of London Symphony Orchestra). Their programme will include works by Leclair and Bach alongside two new compositions by CU music students.

31st — Piano Trio
Pianist Adella Boksenberg (RAM), a frequent user of the Music Centre Steinway, has formed a piano trio with Alice Ruffle (violin) & Jon Fistein (cello). They will present a programme including Beethoven’s Op.1 and works by Clara Schumann and Cambridge’s own David Earl.
7th — Kathryn Williams (Flute)
Contemporary flautist Kathryn Williams has embarked on an ambitious PhD project to commission, perform and record pieces for solo flute which are each performable within a single breath. This programme will feature some of her favourites from the project alongside new pieces by Cambridge University composers.
14th — Vivaldi’s Gloria & David Bowie
Join the Inter Alios choir and the Orchestra on the Hill for a ‘turn up and sing’ performance of Vivaldi’s suitably celebratory Gloria alongside some of Bowie’s anthemic favourites arranged for choir and orchestra. Rehearsal at 2-5pm (Music Centre); performance 6.30pm (Wolfson Theatre). Email Director of Music Ewan Campbell firstname.lastname@example.org if you want to join the choir (or orchestra).
