The Music Society is delighted to announce its Lent Term Friday evening Pre-formal Recital Series.
All recitals are at 6.15pm in the Recital Room unless stated otherwise. Performances are FREE and un-ticketed, with a retiring collection.
31st — Bursary Holders' Recital
Performances by the 2019–20 Bursary Holders.
7th — Edward Lilley & Fatimah Lahham
Edward (harpsichord) & Fatima (baroque recorders) will perform a recital featuring Bach’s flute sonatas.
14th — Maestral Ensemble
Formed in 2018 by Churchill’s Rebecca Doherty this recorder consort will bring their trademark blend of early and modern music.
21st — Fretwork (NB: 7:30pm, Chapel at Churchill)
We are delighted to welcome the UK’s leading viol consort to Churchill for a programme of very old and very new music. Following an afternoon workshop of student pieces the consort will present a programme of 16th, 17th and 21st century music from Tye, Purcell, and Kelterborn, with a premiere by Ewan Campbell.
Free to college members and £15 (£5 conc.) to non-members.
28th — Sopriola: Words in New Clothing
It is a pleasure to welcome new Artist By-Fellow Rachel Stott (viola & viola d’amore) and Rachel Godsill (soprano), who will perform newly commissioned works including music for their June tour to Latvia.
6th — Cambridge University Flute Choir
Movies to Mario Kart: flutes of all sizes play music from screens of all sizes in this Soundtrack Spectacular.
13th — Wind Quartet
A newly formed IAS wind quartet featuring Churchill’s Lottie Anstee (flute) with Fred Duffen (clarinet), Tristan Bromley (oboe) and Emma Williams (bassoon), who may be joined by pianist William Hu.
