Churchill Association visit to Henry Moore Studios and Gardens

29 Apr 2018
Location: Dane Tree House, Perry Green, Hertfordshire SG10 6EE
Start time: 11:00
End time: 16:00

Churchill Association members are invited to join a tour of Henry Moore Studios and Gardens at Perry Green in Hertfordshire.

The guided tour covers the sculpture gardens, studios and Hoglands – the Moores' family home. Additionally, guests will have the chance to explore Henry Moore’s works in wood and stone in a new exhibition, Out of the Block: Henry Moore Carvings. Carving was central to Henry Moore’s practice throughout his career and this exhibition explores how, for nearly seven decades, Moore continually returned to direct carving to make some of his most imaginative and inspired work. Featuring over 30 sculptures dating from the 1920s through to the 1980s, and a fascinating display of archive material, this exhibition is the first in a new series of thematic displays showcasing the riches of the collection.

We will meet at the venue at 11am. Directions can be found here.

The site features a visitors' centre which contains a café selling coffee, light lunches and cream teas. Those wishing to bring their own picnic lunch are welcome to do so, although this must be consumed outdoors.
