Professor Frank Hahn, distinguished economist and a founding Fellow of Churchill College died, in hospital in Cambridge on the 29th January 2013, following a short illness.
Professor Hahn was a Founding Fellow, Director of Studies and College Lecturer in Economics from his arrival at Churchill College in 1960, until he departed for a chair at the LSE in 1966. The College then elected him to a title E Fellowship.
He returned to a chair in Economics in Cambridge in 1972, and to a Professorial Fellowship in the College, until his retirement in 1992. He remained a title D Fellow of Churchill College following his retirement. After his retirement he spent time at the University of Siena, and the rest of his time in Cambridge and Churchill College.
A memorial event to commemorate the life of Professor Frank Hahn was held at Churchill College on 29th September 2013.
