Churchill College is pleased to celebrate the diversity as well as the excellence of our new undergraduate intake.
Over 75% of our new UK undergraduates are from state schools and colleges, and 35% of the first year will be from outside the UK: from the EU and the wider world.
But most of all we are delighted that 36% of the undergraduates of 2017 will be women — our highest proportion for over a decade.
In a college that is committed to taking 70% of its students in STEM subjects, recruiting as many women as we would like is a challenge. But we are determined to continue to make progress on this score. A series of new films, produced by our Emmy-award-winning alumna Sally Angel, give a glimpse of what life in the College is like for female students. These films mark the beginning of a new campaign in the coming months further to highlight the life and activities of women at Churchill.

Over the last two years the Master has conducted a series of public conversations in our theatre with senior women from different academic disciplines and walks of life to act as inspiration for future generations. In the coming academic year her guests will be Bridget Kendall, Dr Helen Czerski and Baroness Martha Lane Fox, providing a diverse range of experiences and insights into women's lives and careers.
