Churchill College has been named as having the highest percentage of state school admissions amongst Cambridge Colleges this year.
Admissions to Cambridge University for 2017 saw state school pupils make up the highest level on record of successful applicants from the UK, with 64% of successful applicants coming from state schools. Figures released by the University of Cambridge reveal that Churchill College admitted the highest proportion of all of the Cambridge's colleges last year, with 76.5% of its 2017 intake coming from state education.
These figures follow on from Churchill being identified as the highest-achieving College in Oxford and Cambridge in respect of state-sector admissions in the Government's 2015 Social Mobility and Child Poverty Commission's annual report.
At Churchill, we work hard to encourage applications from the best students, irrespective of the background they come from. The College works closely with schools and colleges to ensure students get the best possible information about our offering and our admissions process as part of our commitment to our widening participation programme.
