Study with us
This Michaelmas, saw the launch of a new series of student-led environmentally focused talks called Shed A Light.
The talks, organised by Churchill JCR student Cornelia Bentson, featured leading green political and conservationist leaders, sought to present alternative framings of future human-nature interactions and suggest possible pragmatic pathways that could take us there.
Tony Juniper CBE — Executive Director for Advocacy and Campaigns at WWF-UK spoke on the 26 October on the benefits of governments and public policy-makers putting nature first for economic and social benefits. In his talk — What does Nature Do for Britain (Economy, Food Security, Public Health) and how can it do more of it? he advocated that the preservation of nature with the pursuit of green policies actually benefits us economically.
