Congratulations to Visiting Fellow Benedikt Loewe, who has been elected as a member of the Académie Internationale de Philosophie des Sciences (AIPS).

The AIPS is an interdisciplinary society that aims to overcome all divisions, national, linguistic, institutional, and philosophical, in order to try to reach a synthesis on the fundamental questions of the philosophy of the sciences,

This prestigious society was founded in 1947 with E.W. Beth, L.E.J. Brouwer, L. de Broglie, and H. Weyl among its founding members.

Past members include P. Bernays, R. Carnap, A. Church, W. Heisenberg, C. G. Hempel, A. Heyting, S. C. Kleene, P. Lorenzen, W. Pauli, J. Piaget, K. R. Popper, W. V. O. Quine, E. Schroedinger, W. Sierpinski, T. Skolem, and C. F. von Weizsaecker. Current members include Jeremy Butterfield, Nancy Cartwright, Noam Chomsky, Luciano Floridi, Ian Hacking, Hannes Leitgeb, John Norton, John Searle, and Elliott Sober.
