In the last blog about documents from the archives on Churchill’s funeral, we saw one of the earliest letters about planning for “Operation Hope Not”, which dated from 1958.
We have now moved on by about two years, to October 1960. Again, Churchill’s secretary Anthony Montague Browne is writing to Lady Churchill, but now plans for the funeral are firming up.
