Churchill’s sports teams have had successful results in this year’s Cuppers competition — an intercollegiate sporting competition at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge.

Badminton

Churchill won Open Cuppers, beating Trinity 2-1 in the Final. The women’s team also had a strong tournament, reaching the semi-finals.

Rugby

Churchill reached the plate final which is still to be played, although this is not the overall final this constitutes a fantastic achievement given where the college’s rugby team was only a few years ago.

Basketball

The Churchill basketball team are currently into the quarterfinals of Cuppers, with the last few games taking place in Easter term.

Lacrosse

Churchill’s newly formed lacrosse team reached the Cuppers Final, coming second behind Magdalene College — a great achievement given it only started in the last couple of years.

Football

Churchill was on track to record it’s highest league position in 10 years.

Tennis

This year the Churchill tennis team got to the quarterfinals of Cuppers, comprehensively beating Jesus 2nds and Homerton (seeded 7th) before narrowly losing to Emmanuel (seeded 4th).

We got put out in the first round last year so this is a significant improvement!

Rowing

There were strong results in Lent Bumps (+3) for both W1 (with their new boat — Shall We Fly pictured below) and M2.
