The latest book to emerge from the Churchill Archives Centre is by Graham Farmelo, visiting By-Fellow of Churchill College and Adjunct Professor of Physics at Northeastern University, Boston, USA, has just been published.
Launched at the Science Museum this week, Churchill’s Bomb: A Hidden History of Science, War and Politics reveals a new aspect of Churchill’s life, previously neglected by historians: his relations with his nuclear scientists, and his management of Britain’s policy on atomic weapons
During research for the book, Dr Farmelo became a frequent visitor to the Churchill Archives Centre and has thanked Archives staff ‘for all their help.’ An already familiar face at the Churchill Archives Centre, Farmelo’s last work was a prize-winning biography of the physicist Paul Dirac, whose papers are also kept at the Centre.
