Autism Spectrum Conditions are characterised by a wide variety of symptoms. One of these is atypical perception, and an often reported trait is enhanced detail perception. This could be due to a variety of factors, including allocation of attentional resources or unusual processing in the visual pipeline.

Jan Freyberg is a student at Cambridge Neuroscience. His primary interest is in psychophysics as a tool to investigate the brain using behavioural paradigms that rely on basic perceptual mechanisms to look at the visual system in autism.
