The College welcomed over 130 guests for an afternoon of entertainment and refreshments at the Donor Garden Party on Sunday 2 July. The event was held to thank all our most recent donors and volunteers for their generosity and support.

The afternoon began with a fascinating talk by Professor Mark Goldie on ‘Going co-ed: How Churchill College became the first men’s College to decide to admit women’. Guests then had the opportunity to attend tours of the Moller Centre or College Sculptures, visit Cowan Court, view an exhibition of the new Graduate Accommodation Project or play a game of croquet. Guests then assembled on the Jock Colville Lawn for a classic afternoon tea served with scones, sandwiches, cake and iced Pimms whilst enjoying some light jazz music led by alumnus James Brady (U07) on the trumpet.
The Master welcomed attendees with a short speech charting the recent achievements of the College and the vital role played by donors. We are extremely grateful for of all the support that our alumni and other donors have given to the College. With your help, we are able to offer much more to our current and future students both in terms of financial support, better facilities and more opportunities to make the most of their time at Churchill. We are currently seeking donations to support the Graduate Accommodation Project.
We are planning to hold regular events in future for all those who have supported the College in the preceding year including another Garden Party on Sunday 8 July 2018, the day after the Reunion Dinner.
