After 50 years in use, the Combined Colleges Boathouse (Churchill College, Kings College, Selwyn College and the Leys School) was finally demolished in June 2014 and work is now well underway on its replacement.
In the meantime, temporary racking and buildings on the grass adjacent to the site have enabled the clubs to keep on rowing. The piling for the new building was done early in the Long Vacation and the steel frame for the building is currently being erected.

The building will include a full size workshop for the boatman and changing rooms on the first floor, well clear of the likely flooding level. Its proximity to the river means that was necessary to design a building which could be flooded.
The new building should be open in Easter Term 2016 if all goes to plan.
