A new court for student accommodation at Churchill College is one step closer to becoming a reality with the City Council granting planning permission for the project.

New Court will be situated west of South Court adjacent to Madingley Road and will provide on-campus accommodation for 68 more Churchill students. The design of the new building reflects the College’s environmental strategy, minimising the carbon footprint and energy use of the building throughout its life. The building will also be fully accessible to disabled visitors and residents, including three rooms specifically designed for disabled students.

“Accommodating all our undergraduate and advanced students is critical to Churchill’s success as an academic and social community – and vital as we continue to attract the very brightest and most focused students to this College. I am delighted by our plans to build a wonderful New Court whose visionary design will provide comfortable, social space while minimising environmental impact.”

You can help future students at Churchill College with the provision of new student accommodation by contributing to the 50th Anniversary Appeal.

As Sir Winston said when launching the campaign to found the College: I ask you to contribute with enthusiasm and not with caution. The need today is no less and I hope that you will respond with equal generosity to the present appeal. With your help the College can go from strength to strength over the next fifty years…and beyond.”
