Last month Churchill’s Master, Professor Dame Athene Donald, was invited by the Royal Society to give a TEDx talk at their TedX Whitehall event. A TedX talk is an independently organised live talk using the same sub-18 minute format as the popular Ted talks and following the same rules.
Dame Athene chose as her title ‘Nothing is wasted – turning bad experiences into good lessons’, where she reflected on her varied career in physics, and the many difficult experiences and prejudiced assumptions she has faced. She used the talk to explain that even a bad experience can often be turned to good advantage in the long run.
