We are excited to announce the appointment of Steve Nesbitt as our new IT Director.
Stephen is a certified PRINCE2 Practitioner, a BCS Professional Member (MBCS) and has over 20 years’ experience managing teams. After completing his Masters in Computing Science at Newcastle University, Stephen chose to focus his career in the education sector, working primarily in the Preparatory and Independent sectors where he effected positive change in all aspects of IT systems and services from concept to delivery.
His work has consistently drawn praise for positive digital investment and effective use thereof, most recently including a feature in the industry press regarding access control systems as well as giving presentations at the UK’s premier EduTech exhibition regarding MDM and Cloud networking.
Being responsible for numerous IT projects, Stephen’s goals were to create and equip spaces which would not only be purposeful but would encourage learners to connect and innovate in surroundings that would stimulate their creativity. Other major projects for which he has been directly responsible include General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) readiness, network domain planning/migration, network infrastructure planning/design and implementation, Cloud services (such as Office365), SharePoint design, and crafting support mechanisms and procedures to manage IT processes.
Additional ventures have included planning and implementing increased site security measures, namely fully integrated CCTV systems as well as centralised, highly scalable and unified site-wide Access Control systems so as to satisfy not only their diverse range of requirements but which would also fulfil the needs of essential critical incident response planning.
Stephen is thrilled to be a part of the team and is thoroughly looking forward to helping shape the direction of the digital landscape of the College.
