Sam Chan (U13) and Jeni Shuttleworth (U15) were both brought off the subs bench and on to the rugby pitch in an exciting match forming the first part of the annual clash against Oxford at Twickenham on Thursday 7 December.

Despite Oxford looking the stronger team initially, with play largely in their half at the outset, the Cambridge women went on to dominate the game, especially in their scrummaging, culminating in a 24-0 whitewash to the light blues.

Sam was brought on first, replacing the hooker, whilst Jeni came on soon after to join the back row.

Alumni watching the game at the stadium were treated to a second Cambridge victory in the nail-biting men’s game that followed, resulting in a 20-10 win there. It was an excellent day out so do keep an eye out for next year’s trip nearer the time, where you can join other Churchillians in top-class action-side seats at the famous West London venue at a fraction of the price of other matches there.
