Professor Sir David Wallace CBE, FRS, FRSE has been elected Vice-President of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
Sir David studied at the University of Edinburgh for his PhD in Elementary Particle Theory under the supervision of Peter Higgs (who has been awarded the 2013 Nobel Prize for Physics) and from 1979-94 he was Tait Professor of Mathematical Physics at the University of Edinburgh.
