Churchill College’s Head of Grounds & Gardens — John Moore has been awarded a Fellowship from the Chartered Institute of Horticulture in recognition of his high standard of distinction achieved in the profession.
The Chartered Institute of Horticulture is the authoritative organisation representing those professionally engaged in horticulture in the UK and Ireland. Established in 1984, it aims to foster a close relationship between all sectors of professional horticulture throughout the UK and Ireland.
Fellowships are granted to members who have achieved a high standard of distinction in the profession as well as having had a direct bearing on horticulture
John has looked after the College’s 42 acres of parkland since 1996 and manages a team of ten staff. Since he joined Churchill, John has been managing extensive redevelopment work within the spirit of the original design as well as develop new areas within the gardens. Designed for foliage and form, the College’s grounds and gardens provide year round interest in peaceful surrounds with courtyards, large open spaces and specimen trees.
The College would like to congratulate John on his Fellowship, which reflects his outstanding work in providing the College with fantastic gardens and grounds for our members and the public to enjoy throughout the year.
