Congratulations to Churchill’s Megan McGregor (U&G 11), who has won the National Final of the IOM3 Young Person’s Lecture Competition and will now represent the UK in the World Lecture Competition in London later this year.
Having won the South Eastern regional qualifiers in April to compete in the National Final, Megan was one of five finalists to give a lecture of 15 minutes on a topic related to materials, minerals, mining, packaging, clay technology and wood science and engineering.
Megan’s lecture — ‘The world’s hottest superglue: Materials requirements for better sealing in jet engines‘ was judged as the winner by an academic panel and the audience, who were able to cast a People’s Vote.
