First published in 1885, the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography publishes brief biographies of notable figures from British history. Each year it issues new entries for those who have died in recent years.

The January 2016 update includes biographies of those who died in 2012, and includes two former Fellows of Churchill:

  • David Ian Olive (1937-2012), FRS, theoretical physicist, Senior Research Fellow and Teaching Fellow, 1964-70, later Professor of Physics at Imperial College London.
  • John Gerald Taylor (1931-2012), theoretical physicist, Senior Research Fellow, 1963-64, later Professor of Mathematics at King’s College London.
