Warmest congratulations to Professor David Ron,Title C Fellow, on his election as a Fellow of the Royal Society. David is a biochemist who has pioneered understanding of how cells cope with the stress induced by protein misfolding in the endoplasmic reticulum, which is recognised to contribute to many diseases including endocrine disorders and neurodegeneration.
Also elected FRS this year were three former Churchill Fellows: Professor Geoffrey Grimmett, Professor Dorothy Bishop and Dr Ewan Birney along with former Undergraduate — Professor Jenny Nelson.
