The College was saddened to hear of the passing of alumnus Bob Bell, whom many of our alumni residing in Belgium, Italy, France and Switzerland would know through the BIFS alumni group, to which he devoted a significant amount of time.

Bob was often in contact with College and enjoyed sharing his views and ideas. He was particularly keen to find ways to better support students to develop resilience and navigate through any mental health challenges arising from the stress of their studies.

Bob was a Year Group Rep for the 1965 cohort and clearly enjoyed bringing members of the Churchill community together. As a student, he had been involved with a number of extra-curricular activities, including rowing, rugby, squash and amateur boxing, for which he gained a Blue; he was also JCR President.

Bob’s energy and enthusiasm is much missed.
