Study with us
Andrew is a Teaching By-Fellow in Chemistry. He studied for a BA and MSci in Natural Sciences at Churchill College, Cambridge, graduating in 2013. He continued as a post-graduate student at Churchill, completing a PhD in the Department of Chemistry under the supervision of Dr Andrew Wheatley. His PhD thesis focussed on the design of heterobimetallic bases incorporating lithium and copper (or silver) for applications in synthesis, and the elucidation of their structures in the solid- and solution-states. He continues to work in this area of research, and is currently investigating the application of these reagents to activate nominally inert hydrocarbon materials. He has a wider interest in many aspects of inorganic and organometallic chemistry and has supervised courses on these topics since 2013.
