Dr Carlos López-Gómez is the Head of Policy Links, a not-for-profit consultancy unit based at the University of Cambridge’s Institute for Manufacturing. The Policy Links Unit works with governments to develop effective industrial innovation policies. It provides consultancy services and capacity building programmes bringing together the latest academic thinking and the international best practice on policy implementation.

At Policy Links, Carlos leads team of engineers and economists working at the interplay of technology, innovation, and industrial competitiveness. The team has extensive experience providing independent advice to governments, international organisations, and development banks in both developed and developing countries.

Carlos started his career with engineering roles at Toyota and General Electric. He has been seconded at the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and was a visiting researcher at the University of Tokyo. Carlos holds a PhD in industrial innovation policy from the University of Cambridge.

Cambridge Industrial Innovation Policy
