Dr Eurof Walters was born in Trebanos in the Swansea Valley in 1936. He attended Pontardawe Grammar School followed by spells at the University of Wales in Swansea and at Aberystwyth where he studied Mathematics, Statistics, and Education. After a short spell of employment at the UK Atomic Energy Authority at Calder Hall, Cumberland he was employed by the government (HMOCS) in two foreign postings; Northern Rhodesia and Malaysia. In 1970 Dr.Walters took up employment as a Statistician for the Agricultural and Food Research Council and based in the Department of Applied Biology, University of Cambridge. He eventually became officer in charge of the AFRC Statistics Group which was relocated to the Institute of Animal Physiology at Babraham in 1987. He then became Head of Statistics and Computing at Babraham.
Dr.Walters took early retirement from the AFRC in 1989 to function as a private statistical consultant, and continues in that role. Throughout his time in Cambridge Dr.Walters has undertaken teaching duties for Churchill college, and other colleges, and was Director of Studies for Natural Science Mathematics at Churchill. He also undertook tutorial duties at the College.
Dr.Walters is married to Dawn, and they have two sons, Bryn & Leigh.
