Dr Joe Paddison

Subject Physics
Fellow type Junior Research Fellows
Year started 2016

Joe Paddison is a Junior Research Fellow in Physics. His research focuses on the behaviour of magnetic materials at low temperatures, where the interplay of quantum mechanics and geometry can generate unusual disordered states of matter. He is associated with the research group of Dr Sian Dutton in the Department of Physics. Joe received his doctorate in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Oxford in 2015 under the supervision of Prof Andrew Goodwin and Dr Ross Stewart, having obtained an MChem in Chemistry from the same university in 2011.

He joins Churchill from Atlanta, where he was a postdoc in the group of Martin Mourigal at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
